Spread
Measure across the rack from the front, at right angles to the center line of the skull.
Inches and eighths, the way it goes on a score sheet: type the whole inches, then pick the eighths. For 22 4/8, type 22 and pick 4/8.
Beams & points
Measure the main beam along the outer curve from the burr to the tip. Measure each normal point from where it leaves the top of the beam to its tip. Only points at least 1 inch long count.
Whole inches, then the eighths. Leave a point blank if he doesn't have it.
Mass
Take four circumferences on each beam at the smallest place between points. If a G4 is missing, take H4 halfway between G3 and the beam tip.
Abnormal points
Abnormal points are out of place or unmatched — drop tines, points off other points, or extra points off the bottom or sides of the beam. Measure each from its base to its tip.
